Not bad for a weekend in December when the flea market crowds are less than usual. Remember my last post about life getting crazy? Well, add a puppy on the list. But more on that later as I am still trying to get a good picture of him.

My lantern collection to date.

So I have been collecting lanterns for over a year now and I recently took inventory.

Above: This is where I have been hanging some of my lanterns and storing my stoves.

Above: Some of my nicer 200A’s including the one in the middle that my grandmother bought new. Also my 501 stove.

Above: I put this shelf up in my office to display some of my other stuff as well.

Above: This is where the magic happens and lanterns live on. In the process of rebuilding a 525 military burner.

525 Coleman military burner.

I cant seem to find any information on this one either. Its a 525 Coleman and I was told its a military burner from around WWII used to heat water. I’m guessing that’s what the contraption is on top. Its got 2 burners rated at 10,000 btu per hour. If anyone has any info on this bad boy, please let me know.

Rogers Military stove

This is my newest purchase, a Rogers military stove from 1965. This is a model M-1950 and it was built by a number of companies under contract to the U.S. Quartermaster Corps between 1951 and 1987. It also came with an aluminum case that doubled as a cook kit but mine is long gone. The burner is rated at 5500 BTU/hr and also has spare parts located inside the pump handle and legs. This stove was made by Rogers Tool and Die Co., Inc., Akron, Ohio in 1965.

Mil spec Coleman 1958

Here is my Mil Spec Coleman lantern from 1958. I lit it up a minute ago and the generator was a little loose and blew a fireball out the side. it was a close call on the back porch tonight. This lantern features a four quadrant globe, aluminum generator that feeds the mantle from above and a parts well in the fount. Unfortunately, I am missing the spare parts and the cap. There were a few manufacturers but Coleman had the contract to build them for the military in 1965. I am proud to say that mine is a Coleman.
